Dakshin Kamrup Girls' College is the lone institution for girls based on rural and semi urban background in entire south Bank of river Brahmaputra from West Guwahati to Goalpara. During the last few years the institution has witnessed significant changes in academic as well as in infrastructure fields. Construction of a three storied building for girls hostel, a two storied building for administrative office, one two storied academic building one sports complex with modern outfits are few to make references here. The sloka engraved in the college embleme is - Vidyaya Bindate Amritam, which means, when Brahama is known in all mentation, then complete knowledge or real wisdom is attained.
